Gayatri Sriram – Bharathanatyam Recital

Gayatri Sriram from Singapore has been performing for about 15 years at many important centres in the world. She is a student of Smt. Minal Prabhu of Kalakshetra. She opened her performance with Kauthvam. For varnam she chose a composition in Sanskrit – Sringaralola Muralidhara Gopimanohara  – in ragamalika choreographed by her guru Smt. Minal Prabhu. This was followed by Ashtapadi Sakhiye Keshi Madana – from Jayadeva’s Gita Govindam, Tillana in Suddha Dhanyasi and Padam in Sahana. The Orchestral Ensemble consisted of Smt. Minal Prabhu – Nattuvangam, Vocal support by Sri Balasubramanya Sharma, Sri Gurumurthy on Mridangam, Sri Jayaram Kikkeri on Flute and Sri Prasanna Kumar on Rhythm and Morsing.
